Cruising along nicely

Well, it's been over a week, so I guess I'm obliged to enter another post. Nothing really to add, except that things are going along really nicely. My lungs have remained as clear as there were a week ago, if not a little more. I've missed a couple of physios here and there and it still hasn't had a negative effect on me, so I'm really pleased with that. It shows that my body is getting stronger and building up more resistance against normal everyday crap, which used to affect it quite alot. A real test will be tonight when I go to the Adult Bookstore cd launch at Lizard Lounge. It will be a long night, filled with lovely smoke and other various substances in the air. No doubt it will require a few visits out into the wonderful surroundings we call Hindley St, but hopefully it won't be too bad.

But apart from that I haven't really got anything else to report. Organisations are slowly but steadily getting underway for the doco, still haven't paid for any of my trip, and getting quite busy organising my going away/fundraising 'do (will keep everyone posted as more details come to light).

A big fat 8.5 for this week's rating!

Woot Woot!

Well, just got back from clinic, and I'm glad to say that my lung function did go up - by 1% as a matter of fact, so I am stoked as I said I would be. Considering that only a couple of weeks ago I had some bug and had quite a big weekend and haven't done anything in the way of exercise, a 1% improvement is bloody grand! Now I have start the swimming. I've got 2 months till my next and probably last clinic before I jet off overseas, so I'm going to try my hardest to get it up even more with the aid of exercise.

Cheers to me!

Rating is still an 8, but now its a capital 8 because of the 1% improvement.

Update no. 12

I wanted to post something sooner but to tell you the truth there hasn't really been anything worth posting. My lungs are pretty much as good as they were before. However due to a bit of a big weekend (working lots, Vasco Era on Saturday night) I didn't do as much physio as I should have so on Monday I was a little bit worse for wear. But this morning I seem to have cleraed that up again, so that's good.

I went to see my naturopath on Thursday and she gave me another tub of Ambrotose, as well as some other supplements. I don't know if the other stuff is working at all, but I guess it's all too soon to tell. But overall I'm still very pleased with how I'm feeling. I've still got to start up the swimming again, so unless something comes up, I plan to start that this week.

I have clinic today, so I'm keen to see how my lung function is. I'll make sure to post the results. If it's up even 1%, I'm going to be stoked. If it's the same, I won't be too disappointed. However, if it's down, well, we'll just have to wait and see if that happens.

Rating for Jaan today... 8

Onward and upward

Things have been steadily improving over the last 5 or so days, and I'm starting to feel back to my normal healthy self. I'm still a bit productive during physio, but the strangest thing is that it feels as if the phlegm is only coming up from the top of my lungs - not from deep within them. So while I'm still coughing a bit up, its really easy to do and I'm not struggling to try and clear up stuff from deep inside. I'm pretty sure that this has something to do with the Ambrotose. Usually catching some bug followed by not doing physio for a week would completely stuff me up for about a month. Yet this time I seem to be well on the way to being as well if not better than I was before I caught it, and it's only been about a week. So if you can't tell I'm quite happy about the whole thing.

I still haven't even started swimming yet, so I'm hoping things will only get better once I start that up again. And I'm even feeling a little bit different than I was a few weeks ago. When I say different, I'm referring to that 'wall' I mentioned - look at the post Water, eggs and mud - all part of a better, healthier you to understand what I mean. I'm feeling that my wall is being built quite rapidly and it's much stronger than it was before. I even went out the other night to the Grace to catch the end of the Baterz and Bedridden tribute night. It was soo smokey in there, yet the next day I didn't seem to suffer from it at all.

I've also decided that if I am feeling well, instead of being usual 'safe' Jaan and deciding not to go out in case I do get sick from it, I'll go out because I AM feeling well so I should take advantage of it. What's the point in staying home when I'm feeling well and then I happen to catch something? I could have had a good time seeing friends when I was well. So yeah, that's my new attitude. Here's to lots of good times ahead *cheers*.

This week's rating... *drumroll* 8 *applause*

On the mend

Things are starting to look up again. I think I've finally beaten the bug that's been bugging me (har har) for the last week or so. The nose has pretty much stopped running, the headaches have stopped pounding and the throat is well on the mend. But since I didn't do physio for about a week, the lungs have gone to shite. Not to worry however - physio 3 times a day is getting that back on track.

Now I've got to find the energy to get back into the swimming. I'm still quite weak at the moment, so I'll prob start with some walks just to raise my fitness from bedridden patient to bum.

Strangely enough, I'm finding myself getting well alot quicker than I would normally after such a bout of sickness. Is this due to the Ambrotose? I have no idea. I'm bloody thankful for it though. I don't think I could handle another 2-month-getting-better period. So here's hoping it will continue...

And this week's rating is... 6.5-7 (I'm not too sure which one just yet)
